How to access the SimpliNET2 web interface?

Overview

The SimpliNET2 Mesh WiFi system provides a web-based configuration interface which can be accessed using any web browser. For security reasons the web-based configuration is only accessible from your local network and not over the Interface (WAN). The web configuration interface can be used to customize various setting, apply manual firmware updates and to get information about the mesh system.

This note guides you through the process of login into the SimpliNET2 web interface.

Connecting to the SimpliNET2 WiFi Network

A PC or Mac can connect to the SimpliNET2 system either via Ethernet or over WiFi. To connect a PC or Mac via Ethernet simply plug in one end of an CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the PC or Mac and plug in the other end to the LAN1 port or LAN2 port of the SimpliNET2 Router. This section provides step by step instruction on how to connect your PC or Mac to SimpliNET2 over WiFi. The instructions provided in this note apply to a PC running Windows 10.

On any PC running Windows 10, click on the WiFi icon in the taskbar.

Ensure that WiFi is enabled.

This will bring up the list of WiFi networks in the vicinity of the PC. If the SimpliNET2 WiFi network does not show up there, please make sure that the SimpliNET2 mesh Router is powered on.

Select the SimpliNET2 network, make sure that "Connect Automatically" is selected and click on “Connect”. Don't connect to the SimpliNET2_Touch network.

Type in the network security key. For security reasons every SimpliNET2 system has a unique key which is printed on the label at the bottom on the SimpliNET2 Router device.

After typing in the key click next. Give it a few seconds to Verify the key and connecting to the SimpliNET2 WiFi network.

Windows may prompt you to setup the network as a "Private" network. Click the Yes button.

Once your computer is connected, the following message would be displayed.

In addition, the WiFi icon will display the name of the network your computer is connected to i.e. “SimpliNET2”.

Now your PC is connected to the SimpliNET2 WiFi network and you should be able to access the SimpliNET2 web interface.

Access the SimpliNET2 Router configuration page.

Start a web browser such as Edge, Chrome or Firefox.

In the address bar of the browser, type in the address of the SimpliNET Router http://192.168.10.1. This assumes that your SimpliNET Router is running with factory default settings. If you have modified the IP address of subnet of the Router in the past, then please type in the IP address of the Router.

Please sure that you type in the above address in the Address Bar of the browser NOT in the search box of the browser.

The SimpliNET2 web configuration login page should show up. .

Login into the web configuration page.

Type in the SimpliNET2 administrative password and click on the Login button. For security reasons every SimpliNET2 system has a unique administrative password which is printed on the label at the bottom of the SimpliNET2 Router device.

If the login is successful, the following home page will be displayed. For security reasons, you will be automatically logged out after 10 minutes of inactivity.
